Two Companions who were unable to attend the Annual Convocation on 5th November 2007 received individual presentation of their respective Honours on 11th December when the Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. John Ilott, and Provincial Grand Scribe E, E. Comp. Roger Pells called to see them.


E. Comp. Don Laver was presented with the Grand Superintendent’s Certificate of Service to Royal Arch Masonry at Langley House Rehabilitation Unit. Don had been in Watford General Hospital for six months previously, following several years of illness and operations. Sadly Don passed away only four days after receiving his Certificate. He was well known throughout the Province, as he belonged to several other Orders, and aced as Tyler and Janitor to a number of Lodges and Chapters. His funeral took place at Garston Crematorium on 28th December, and afterwards a large number of brethren and friends gathered at Halsey Masonic Hall in Watford.

E. Comp. Steven Gibbons of West Watford Chapter No. 6492 received as his first appointment the rank of Past Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies at Hill House in Elstree. Steven suffers from Multiple Sclerosis which now prohibits him from attending his Chapter. He had previously carried out the duties of the various Offices leading up to the Third Principal’s Chair, but served as J, H and MEZ from his wheelchair.
