An enjoyable and special evening was had at the Earl of Clarendon Chapter meeting.  It saw the Second Principal and Chapter member, Excellent Companion Phil Masters assist in the installation of his son Phillip into the First Principal‘s Chair.

The Principals’ opened the Chapter in due form, the minutes of the previous convocation were confirmed and approved.

Excellent Companion Ali Osman sought admission to announce the arrival of the Deputy Grand Superintendent, Robert Asser accompanied by Excellent Companion Brian Handley, Provincial Grand Charity Steward and Excellent Companion Nick Tessier,Provincial Membership Officer.

The Chapter proceeded to conduct the Obligations and Installations for the Third and First Principal, with the second being deferred to a later occasion due to the incumbent being unwell.  In his absence, Excellent Companion Mick Childs filled the position.  The Obligation and installation of the First Principal was carried out by the Most Excellent Ian Curtis. During the installation he was assisted by Excellent Companion Phil Masters  who was no doubt very proud to see his son in the first principals chair. 

Other unexpected absences caused other Companions to fill the vacant posts.  This was a display of the true unity of the Royal Arch as they came together to support the Chapter.

The incoming First Principal, Excellent Companion Phillip Masters then proceeded to install the members of the Chapter who were present with warmth and fidelity. Excellent Companion Robert Asser, the Deputy Grand Superintendent then delivered the address to the Companions in his usual engaging and characteristic style. 

The Deputy Grand Superintendent announced that the Second Grand Principal, Excellent Companion Phil Masters, who is also the Provincial Learning and Development lead for the Royal Arch had completed the Solomon Academy Diploma. The Deputy Grand Superintendent was delighted to be able to present with a Certificate of Achievement.

The business of the evening included reports from the Treasurer and Scribe E, both of which reflected steady progress and continued engagement from the membership. 

As part of the Charity Steward Report, in his absence,Excellent companion Brian Handley addressed the Companions with the Grand Superintendent’s wishes with respect to her 2030 Festival and local charity.  Several routine administrative matters were addressed efficiently, ensuring the Chapter remains in good order. The Chapter was closed in harmony.

There followed a cheerful Festive Board, where Companions enjoyed good company, excellent food, lively conversation and the strengthening of fraternal bonds.
