Walnut Tree Chapter meeting at Halsey Hall, Cheshunt 5th May. Despite there being a few last minute drop outs from both the members of the chapter, including the Z elect, and the Provincial team due to illness and work commitments this was an enjoyable and convivial meeting with every companion present playing a part in the ceremony. Due to these absences the Provincial team stepped up to help in the Scribe N and DC’s roles with others delivering the readings.
The chapter’s regular DC, E Comp Robert Asser – you may know him – stepped up himself and delivered the full installation ritual for both the 2nd and 3rd Principals in a very impressive manner. As E Comp Robert said at the festive board, the meeting worked well, despite the absences, because everyone played the part requested of them, some at very short notice.
The festive board was held in one of the smaller rooms at Halsey Hall and was finished by a very good rendition of the Janitors toast by a stand in Janitor who’d come all the way from Croydon by train and which completed a fun evening very nicely.
