£2000 boost in support of the RMTGB

The 2019 Festival received a £2000 boost in support of the RMTGB at a children’s Christmas party held at Ashwell House in St Albans.

Companions of the King Henry VIIIth Chapter worked in harmony with the brethren of the King Henry Lodge to create a wonderful Christmas party for young relatives of masons in Hertfordshire. The excited children received a present from Father Christmas alias Bro Steve Day, were treated to party entertainment including a festive punch & Judy, face painting, disco, refreshments and a party bag to take home. All the costs of the party were met from the pockets of generous masons and all donations received were amassed for the benefit of the 2019 Festival.

Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Jim Sharpley was delighted to receive the donations on behalf of the Festival appeal and said “. ” Ladies, Gentlemen, Brethren and Companions. As I have pledged the support of the Hertfordshire Chapter to our Provincial Grand Master for the 2019 Festival Appeal, it gives me great pleasure to accept this donation from the First Principal, Terry Dancer and Worshipful Master (and companion) Bryan Callum on behalf of the King Henry VIII Chapter and Lodge in support of the RMTGB. This occasion of the Children’s Christmas Party, which has been organised by the King Henry VIII Lodge and Chapter, is an entirely appropriate time to make such a presentation and I have enjoyed the morning immensely and congratulate all those involved with organising the event.”
