The Chapter was opened in due form by the Principals and they received the deputation from province who were E Comp. Peter Young, Assistant to the Grand Principals, E Comp. Jason Roberts, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, E Comp. Richard Bates, Provincial Grand Standard Bearer and E Comp. Steve Garrett, Provincial Grand Steward.
E Comp. John Reynolds was duly installed as MEZ in excellent form and E Comp. Chris Foxcroft and E Comp. Barry Pyle were duly inducted as H and J respectively.
E Comp Peter Young gave the address to the Principals followed by an excellent presentation of the Grand Chapter certificate to Comp. Chris Freeman.
The newly appointed Charity Steward then announced a donation to two charities of £250 each.
The remainder of the summons was conducted and the Chapter closed in due form.
The fine festive board was enhanced by it not only being the Chapters 80th year but also today being E Comp Barry Pyles (J) 80th Birthday. A surprise birthday cake was brought to the festive board at the end and a good rendition of “Happy Birthday” sung with gusto!
All departed in good spirit.
