The Royal Arch Golf Day held at Redbourn Golf Club on Friday 30 th June 2017 was a huge success. The weather was very kind, the course was in excellent condition, the scores all round were outstandingly good, the evening meal – splendidly adorned by a number of glamorous "other half’s" – was delicious, the company and companionship was first class and entirely thanks to the attendee’s generosity with the raffle and auction, we were able to raise £900 to go towards the 2019 R.M.T.G.B. Festival.
The Sydney Tuck Trophy, which is awarded to the best pairs score from a Hertfordshire Chapter went to Neil Ashwell and Chris Noble, representing Cranbourne Chapter, with 73 points, whilst the runners up, from Northants and Huntingdonshire with 77 points were Paul Hobbs and Roger Barker. Third place went to Martin Baldwin and John Butler with 70 points.
The Alec Fuller Trophy, awarded for the best singles score was awarded to John Piggott with 37 points, 2 nd place with 36 points went to Peter Cox (one of the event organisers) and 3 rd place with 35 points went to David Jackson.
Nearest the pin prize went to Paul Hobbs, who was unable to stay for the prize giving and 2 nd prize was awarded to David Jackson. Next year’s Royal Arch Golf Day will take place on Friday 13 th July 2018 and all future Royal Arch Golf Days will take place on the 2nd Friday in July.
