Certificate of Service to Royal Arch Masonry

Presentation of the Most Excellent Grand Superintendents’ Certificate of Service to Royal Arch Masonry

On Saturday 12th March 2022, at the inaugural convocation of Ravenscroft Chapter No 2231 in Copenhagen Denmark, the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Comp James Sharpley had the honour of presenting E Comp Svend Jenson with his Certificate of Service to Royal Arch Masonry in recognition of his long and dedicated Royal Arch Masonic career and thanked him for all his hard work in bringing about the Danish Royal Arch connection, which started back in 1998. The Deputy Grand Superintendent, E Comp David Hampton presented E Comp Svend with the commemorative Royal Arch gold tie pin with the implicit instruction that it must be worn at all Royal Arch Chapters where he is a member or visits in the Province of  Hertfordshire, which recognise him as a recipient of this high honour. E Comp David added his thanks to E Comp Svend for his companionship and friendship in the many years that they have been known to each other.

In 1998, E Comp Svend was instrumental in “sowing the Royal Arch seed” at a craft meeting in Denmark and from that point, a dedicated team of Danish masons picked up the mantle and have driven the initiative to this point that Hertfordshire now have four Chapters on Danish soil viz: Cheshunt, James Terry, Old Fullerian and now Ravenscroft. These four Chapters now form the basis for the Consecration of the Supreme Grand Chapter of Denmark which hopefully will happen in 2023.
