Iain Green – Provincial Assistant Grand Scribe E

The Provincial Assistant Grand Scribe E works with the Scribe E to ensure all the administrative matters within the Province are delivered successfully. Iain will also be working with the Hermes working group and Hertfordshire Royal Arch Chapters to ensure the digitisation of UGLE processes is successfully implemented in 2021/22.

Iain was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, in 1967 and after secondary school enrolled as a student apprentice with the Marconi corporation. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Surrey as well as a Business Degree from the University of Southampton and has worked throughout Europe on a range of Aerospace and Defence programmes. Over the last 14 years Iain has specialised in Information Technology and has run several businesses in this field. Iain is married to Debbie and they have two grown up sons. In his spare time, he enjoys Golf, walking his dog Barney and is an Arsenal season ticket holder.

Iain was introduced into Freemasonry by his father-in-law and initiated into Cheshunt Lodge No 2921 in 2003. He served as Master in 2010 and 2013 and has been Lodge Secretary since 2014. He is also a member of Hertfordshire Masters Lodge No 4090 and received a first active appointment as Provincial Junior Grand Deacon in September 2017. 

In the Royal Arch Iain was Exalted into Hooks Cross Chapter 8705 in 2008, served as MEZ in 2016, and has been Scribe E since 2017. He received an active appointment as a Provincial Grand Steward in 2018 and is a member of the Hertfordshire Provincial Grand Stewards Chapter. Iain is also an active member of the Hertfordshire Knights Templar.
