On Friday July 8th the Royal Arch Golf Day took place at Redbourn Golf Club with the sun shining. 52 Companions took part in the golf, joined by wives and partners in the evening for dinner. ME Comp Jim Sharpley and ME Comp Wayne Williams (Northants and Huntingdon) were also in attendance.
The winner of the singles competition was John Campbell of Elstree Chapter 3092, receiving the Alec Fuller Cup awarded for the best score by a Hertfordshire Companion. The runner-up was Chris Hoad from Bedfordshire.
The Sydney Tuck Trophy for the doubles competition was won by John Campbell and Tim Huckle (Provincial Grand Treasurer designate). Mark Deeming and Stephen Bland, both of East Herts Chapter 3748 were runners up.
Stuart Adams and Peter Fisher each won a sleeve of golf balls for nearest the pin on the 7th and 16th par 3’s.
Overall, this most enjoyable event raised the magnificent sum of £541.00.
